I’d like to learn more about the guns available in America during the very early period such as the late 1600s to mid 1700s, like pre F&I war.
Are there any good books or other resources to learn of these old guns? Thanks so much In advance and hope everyone is enjoying this holiday season. Take care and I love you all,

There is a book called " Arms of colonial América" that is good. IT includes early firearms as well as swords, halbards ect.....

It sounds like you might profit from viewing George Shumway's two volume set, titled "Rifles of Colonial America" and Joe Kindig's "Thoughts on the Kentucky Rifle in Its Golden Age." These have history, photographs and measurements of many guns of a wide variety. There are a number of other worthy publications on this subject and they are not hard to find. If this information isn't satisfactory, you might give us a better idea of what you are after. There are several folks here who can provide authors and titles on until next week.

George Moller's American Military Shoulder Arms Vol One, Part One pages 3 through 96 covers the early Colonial period up to the Rev War, beginning with the late 15th Century.

Smokey, most or all these books should be available to borrow at no cost through your local library. Usually called inter library loan program or similar. This gets you some broad exposure, and then you can pick away and purchase books that have enough value to want in your own library. Shumway's Rifles of Col Amer Vol I and II and Firearms in Col Amer are widely held, and might be in a local library.

Moller is a great resource! Peterson's Arms and Armor in Colonial America is also worth a peek.
