Seeing most of the pics on ALR show a completed rifle, below are some pics of my last Bucks County during its build. Just random shots w/ nothing in mind. I actually find these more interesting than pics of a completed rifle. The pics aren't in any order and are self explanatory......Fred

I really like these in progress pics too...especially of carving. I'm still learning to carve and seeing the carving in the white helps me wrap my head around it better.

Very nice looking!

Beautiful work and Great Pix.
Thanks, Tim

I can appreciate a craftsman's bench during construction. We could work on each other's bench and feel right at home. And really nice work, too!
-
I especially like the carving behind the tang!!!
-
The carving is of course great, but in the build state you can really see the “lines” that make a bucks county rifle that can sometimes be overpowered by the great stock color you seemed to be able to achieve. Thanks for showing the pics, much appreciated.

Fred; why? you do excellent work and it's nice to see. i hope you change your mine, such great work!!

Nice work! Interesting looking toe plate. I assume that's a patch box release in between the two forward screws?
-
Yes....the mushroom shaped plate is pressed and a rod underneath pushes against the catch spring and allows the Pbox lid to swing open. The outer plate wasn't used by the original BC makers....it's my addition.....Fred

Nice work as always Fred, this one is going to be another fine rifle.
-
Fred; is that a large siler lock?
-
Hi...it's a Chambers Golden Age which has a Germanic design but to me, the best looking lock for a BC is the Chambers Late Ketland. Years ago saw a lock on a BC and the lock plate was nearly identical to the Late Ketland except the pan was faceted in good Germanic fashion. So...thought I'd try a Late Ketland and it really looked good.....your opinion on the BC shown below?
My 2nd choice for a BC is the Golden Age, but the Dale Johnson might be a better choice although I never tried it......Fred

Fred, really like the box release. All else as well. But that is very cool.

That is wonderful work....of course! I'm sure I could give that little gal a nice home. 8)
