Hi Dennis, In all of my online travels, to find an original long land bess for sale is rare. To find one reasonably priced is in the pocket book of the beholder. Here is a site that has one for sale. It is a good place to keep tabs on if your interests are in weapons of revolutionary heritage and beyond. Good luck.....Joel  http://www.ambroseantiques.com/flongarms.htm

Keep scrowling down the line of muskets Dennis. There is one that is still for sale with the asking price of 12,500.00. It is a pattern 1738.

Yes! That is a nice one and the price is not bad (for what it is, $10,925 US) assuming it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to import it.

I know this is a late 2nd model Bess, but I would also love to have this one!

It's been cut down, but how cool this would a Queens Rangers marked Brown Bess be!

Another neat Brown Bess.Wonder if this was cut down for Horseman during service or was cut later?I have read about the "
Queens Rangers" but have not seen a marked weapon. Has anyone else.If this is legit, and it looks like it is, I would think it would be a significant piece.

There is another Queens Rangers Bess pictured in "Muskets of the Revolution" by Bill Ahearn. The barrel markings appear legit to me. Also the wrist plate sounds like it is marked similarly to the one on the book, although there is no picture on the site. There is something wrong with the lock. The hammer is wrong and it doesn't seem to match the barrel quite right. It could just be a bad reconversion. I'm not sure what to make of the shortening. Maybe it was used for horse service during its Revolutionary War serice, but I would guess probably cut down later (only a guess  ???). Still, with the Queens Rangers markings, it is very neat!

Its a bad reconversion...sort of jumps off the screen.
