Hi Guys,
I see that there is a section that Possibly will have the Archives from the old ALR.com board.
Do you think that would be possible. I really hate to loose that wealth of archived knowledge

Jim, Dennis is trying to find out how to move stuff over. Once he finds out how to do it, the new board will be rockin'.

Don just wrote me to say he didn't like the moving type. So I took it off.

Hey, where did my ants go?
Somebody went global on me.
Tom
-
Oh, they're back. What happened? Too early to be drinking.

We gotta figure out some way to save the posts, threads, chats... whatever you call all that information on the old ALR... I search it all the time, active first, then the archive... it priceless!
Someone suggested copying to a CD or DVD and selling them.... I'll take serial #1.

I am working on it believe it or not. It is a fair amount of work to get everything right. I have had to try several approaches to get things to this point. My goal is to be able to do a test load next weekend (one topic and the replies to it). If that looks OK and Dennis approves, I will load the whole batch. There is quite a bit of info to be transferred.

Brian,
I really appreciate your efforts as I'm sure many others do as well. Thank you very much!

Indeed! What Ken said. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Hey, where did my ants go?
I stepped on 'em, but like real ants, there are too many to stop. It would appear that Acer has created a virtual ant monster. :D
Though I have copied and saved a good bit of the archives, there is still tons of information that I have not accessed, and I am sure that I am not alone.
I, for one, certainly do appreciate the efforts of those who set up this new board and especially Brian's efforts to transfer the archives to the new board.
Thanks,
J.D.

Brian, sounds great but don't try to rush yourself. We have plenty of time. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with.
Thanks for the work you have put into this,

Whatever happened to this thread?
Click on the box with the LR in it above and then on ALR archives, that should take you to them. You may have to log on to them.

I just logged in. Did you have a different ID then DanP???
-
Can't login. My "username" does not exist. ??? ???
-
First try the same user name and password you use on regular ALR. If this doesn't work you probably joined or changed your password since I last updated the user database for the archive board. If you can't get in with your current ALR username/password email me a user name and password that you would like to use on the archive board and I will manually set it up for you. For some reason I have not been able to load the username/password files from the regular ALR board like I used to do. Just haven't taken time to figure out why, easier to just add the members that can't get in!

Seem to be outa whack today. Just when I was having so much fun reading them Those old posts aare tresures.
-
The archives are not "out of whack" the host server was having problems with slow response time. It affected both this current forum and the archive forum. The problem is now fixed and the response time for me is back to normal.

Still doing the same thing. Hope it gets fixed soon. I love those old posts and intend to read every last one. ;D
