Title: Identified relic buttstock
Post by: debnal on October 17, 2021, 08:20:26 PM
I just got this stock. I collect Rev War identified weapons. Based on what is there, is the stock suggestive of French manufacture of possibly American. The furniture is French but the butt profile and wrist length is more English. The lock opening is 6 1/2 inches. Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated.

Can we see the top of the buttplate?

Here it is. Looks like a standard French buttplate.

Is there a patch in the buttstock on lock side? Looks English walnut to me. French styled parts, European made.

Charleville or American copy.
