I haven’t made a lot of knives. A couple for my own use and a couple gifts.
Here are three blades completed recently awaiting handles. Top one forged from outer differential bearing race from a 1930 ton and a half Ford truck. It provided enough material for two blades.
Center is my first attempt at a pattern welded blade, 1095/L6 (with help and guidance from my instructor).
Last is another welded blade I forged and profiled from a billet he welded.
My blacksmith mentor and good friend insisted I needed to learn pattern welding. I admit it could be addictive.
