Title: Anybody familiar rifle..per chance?

piece about his brother-in-law. I would like to see that rifle.

Post by: Elnathan on March 29, 2022, 03:36:15 PM: I think there was a picture or two of both the original and a bench copy made for one of White's descendants floating around the 'net about twenty years ago. My very fuzzy memory is that it was a big plain rifle with a greasehole, possibly with no buttplate. Knowing what I know now, I'd be cautious in about the claim that it was actually at King's Mountain and not a gun White owned later in life.

Different gun, but the White rifle had some similarities, IIRC.

I think that the Valley Forge/Square-breeched rifle is likely Scandinavian despite the grease hole, for what it is worth.
