Runar, that's really an interesting jaeger. What caliber is it?  It really reminds of what a friend who specialises in English engraving would call a Tiger Rifle or dangerous game rifle. As I understand it, the English in India would hunt tigers from the back of an elephant. The short hunting sword/long bayonet was used when one failed to kill the tiger and the "angry" tiger  would jump up the side of the elephant trying to get at the hunter who now had an empty rifle.

I believe it's 17.8mm

This site also got a nice collection of Danish/Norwegian arms.

Hi all, and thank you Not English and Jakob! Yes the rifle started its life as a flintlock cal24 Lødig (15,2mm) and build by Kronborg Geværfabrik Denmark. And reabuild to cal 15 Lødig(17,8mm) pillar breach at Kongsberg Våpenfabrikk (Norway)in 1851 remember we (Norway) was in union with Denmark at this period ;)
