What barrel and lock you have there?
-
What are you intending to build?
Jerry

This will, eventually, become a Hudson Bay Fowler. The lock is quite large, Dutch in style, built from a TRS kit. Rice made the barrel for me, it is fully round, 46” long, 12 bore. Measures 1.350 at the breech end, .850 at the muzzle.

Valley, not Bay.

Like, totally.

I was thinking that the valley may soon become a bay, due to rising seas and climate change

I wouldn't hold my breath....
-
I am confused... I thought we already had a Hudson Bay?
-
Mike, you may have to hold your breath if people don't start taking climate change seriously.

Just to be clear…..I was joking about the valley becoming a bay.
-
So.... Is this a Hudson bay Fowler or a Hudson valley Fowler? The rifle sounds neat and I'm going to look into the style.
What's the wood.... Walnut?
-
Looks like cherry
-
The correct term would be Hudson Valley Fowler. Stock blank is cherry, from Allen Martin’s woodpile.
