This is after the horn shown in "Antique Accouterments" only a newer version without the wear and tacks.
It is 14" around the outside curve and 11 tip-to-tip. The butt is Walnut, it is 2" in diameter, threaded 1/2-8 to fit the cap/finial, the threaded portion of which is Hickory, (It seems to take threads better than any other wood I've tried) It is held in by 4 wooden pegs. The tip is one piece of Whitetail antler, pinned to the horn with 3 wooden pegs. The 2 bands were heated and pressed on secured by 3 Iron pins each.
It will be at Lexington.
