Avirc,
There are a lot of “I or J * L’s” to choose from among River Gun makers. Can you show more images of the rifle?

Patchbox finials look like one of the Longs. My eyesight is none to good right now so I am not reading the initials on the barrel too well. ls the last one an "L"? I second Bill's request to see more photos, by the way.

I believe it is J L. Will post more pics tomorrow, thanks.

It sure looks similar to a Joe Long, but would like to see the other side to be certain...... note the same script letters on a signed Joe Long gun/Users/pollylowe/Desktop/Screen Shot 2023-02-04 at 7.41.08 PM.png

This is a Laudenslager.

This is a Laudenslager.
Awesome, do you know which Laudenslager?
-
If it is a Laudneslager, it must be John. Since he was in Ohio in 1830, this must be an Ohio rifle, not Pennsylvania.
-
I am hoping we hear from Mark, but I am thinking this could be Jacob Laudenslager.

Thanks
