I see there were a couple of interesting rifles up for auction yesterday. David Cooley, Adams County dated 1835 flintlock and B Hauck of York County flintlock,
Did anyone here buy these or know what they brought?

Dobyns,
Thanks for the heads up on the Cooley rifle. I always enjoying seeing his work.

I don't get too excited about modern Kentuckies, but I was amazed that one of the contemporary rifles, very fine gun with American eagles worked into the decoration in many places, actually beat the two above original rifles and went for $19,000. Seems a little "upside-down" when a modern-made rifle can out-perform high quality original rifles such as the Cooley.
