Title: new little plain horn, turned plug

I'm a sucker for plain jane horns, just picked this middling sized one up. Came out of PA.

Good looking horn, what a find. The finial looks as if it is of a different wood than the butt, is it?

This would be a hard horn not to like! Lots of uncommon features. The spout shaping is very nice and the plug is a bit different with the knob strap mount. Nice size, too. Thank you for posting photos of your new find.

Tim,
The finial/knob appears to be out of the same chunk as the butt, my poor picture and the lighting are in play there. Thanks gents!

ETA oal is 15.5"s on the outside curve, NOT including the strap knob/finial. butt end is 2.5"s across.
