Picked this up at recent Old Barn auction in Ohio. 38 1/4" barrel, 5 1/2" lockplate, 2 inch wide buttplate, about 12 ga. The name on the lock plate appears to be Tayler and Mander. There is a flintlock pistol with that name on the Collector's Firearms archive site. I am wondering if anyone knows anything about the names, company, dates, etc.? and who this might have been marketed to. I am thinking c. 1800. The piece has seen a lot of honest hunting wear as the muzzle is quite worn and the rear ramrod pipe has gone missing.
I appreciate the informative posts and info on British fowlers. I am adding photos of the details, which I hope will speak for themselves.

Thanks very much for the reply. I am still wondering about info on Tayler and Mander.

Nice Fowler.
Fortunately, nobody has erased its history by reconverting it to flint etc, etc.

Nice piece, one well worth having. Thank you for bringing her in for us to admire. There sure is a strong resemblance to the Chief's grade English trade gun for the Indians. Have to wonder if these folks participated in providing such, for the tribes? Thanks again for the view of the nine fowler.

Thank you for the info on Taylor and Mander. Thanks for all the other comments.
Some additional measurements: octagon section of barrel is a bit over 14" in length; barrel width at breech is 1 1/8" or so
