I was cruising a dealers site and came across this shotgun (I have no interest in buying it) and thought the butt trap was pretty neat. I've certainly seen butt traps before to store a jointed cleaning rod or smallish items, but this one is pretty big. It probably weakens the stock too.

Yeah, that is a lot of room. Might be front-heavy w/o cargo, LOL. At least one modern rifle has a stock where the action & barrel fits into the stock.

Obviously not if the gun has survived this long without any damage.

Actually it's for the cleaning kit. Which over the years has been lost..
