Looking for a little help in identifying the maker of this Northwest Trade Gun. It's just curiosity on my part. It's very well built and a great shooter. It's a lefty. As shown in the photos, the only identifiers are the letters VCD above an F on the inside of the lock and a Sitting Fox facing left on the outside of the lock and on the barrel. There is also an inlay that resembles a Masonic symbol on the left side of the butt and the serpent lockplate is inlet into the wood. It's the top gun in the photo showing guns on a wall. Thanks in advance.

Definitely a Siler lock. I can’t help you beyond that.

VCD could be for Vernon C. Davis. He sold his muzzleloader business and it is now Stonewall Creek Outfitters.

VCD = Vernon C. Davis and the F indicating flintlock makes sense. Regardless, whoever the maker was, they were a craftsman. All inletting and wood-to-metal fit is superb. Does anyone know if Mr. Davis made Trade Guns?
