Found this horn a few years ago..about 10 inches long.. Great patina and condition

I agree, it's a very interesting horn, with that loop carved, it would have takin a careful hand.

Neat horn, is that tab the only place for a strap or is there evidence of maybe a staple in the butt?

Love it! That horn is a beauty.
It looks like it came off the left side of the animal, but the suspension lobe at the base sets it up for right-side carry.
Is that a piece of wire twisted around the neck, between the two rings? I've seen that before, but I don't know what purpose it served. A close-up photo of the neck would be appreciated.

The horn appears to have the base, or post, for a small lanyard ring screwed in between the two raised "strap retaining" rings on the spout and lined up with the small tab on the butt end. This is a nicely made horn, a keeper.
