Got lucky today and found an original J Vincent halfstock rifle of about .36 calber , 41 inch bbl. , nice engraved patchbox , and remains of an Ivory or bone front sight. This rifle has an old stock repair along the forestock , I will do some minor restoration stockwork , I ran some oiled patches down and the ririfling is real good and smooth . Iwill take some pictures in the near future.

Is that the Ohio Vincent?

A picture would confirm it but I've not run up on any Vincent's that weren't Ohio rifles.

As I recall the Vincent rifles had a distinct and pleasing style that made them instantly identifiable.As a lover of grand rank cars of the 1930's
When I see J.Vincent I see Packard Motor Car Master Engineer Jesse G.Vincent,Mr.V12 who made it possible for the USA to get powerful marine engines for PT boats and aircraft that helped in knocking the Luftwaffe out of the skies over Europe.He could have been part of the onetime gun makers by that name.
