This started a while ago in early 2022. I had a $500.00 piece of amazing Sugar Maple I was never gonna use so I sent it to Jim to try one of his kits. Everything was going as planed until I got a call my stock broke!!! NOW WHAT!!!!!! Katherine and Jim made it right and replaced my stock and I finished that rifle for a friend. They sent me the broken stock to inspect and salvage. After speaking with Jim he recommended I cut the fore end and make a 3\4 stock conversion. Broke my heart, but the forend was un fixable where it cracked. Decision time, fire wood or............
Here is no decision with all it's pimples and warts!
I ordered a Hoyt 45cal barrel measuring the best I could to fit the swamped inlet of the existing stock. Called Buck Ridge and got a conversion lock. Jim was kind enough to sell me the remaining parts I needed.
PARTS LIST
Buck Ridge Conversion lock, heavily modified plate to fit existing mortise.
Hoyt 45 cal round groove barrel 38.5" long.
Kibler triggers and hardware.
Iron nose cap made by me.
Copper rivets in trigger guard, by me
Hickory under rib by me.
Cock Screw by me.
Drum and stainless nipple, TOTW
Toe Plate by me
Light antiquing of wood, over browned hardware and rubbed back with some remaining brown left for age appearance.
Gun weighs 6.5 lbs, points great and a pleasure to hold.
Lots of hours in this obviously, not a snap together kit anymore. I sighted it in at 50 yards and shoot extremely well.
Thanks for looking, please don't criticize my work too bad.

I wish...it's PAFlinter's work. It was in the "For Sale" and I thought it was to good to be passed by so I moved it over here.
I fixed the "Subject" line, should have posted that from the start.

Straight nitric acid, diluted to 25% and a few old nails from my 1880 barn tossed in for good measure. Homemade powdered stain mixed with water. Some bone black. 1 coat of 50/50 tongue oil, then many coats of some Eric Kettenburg Homemade linseed oil I've had for YEARS!. Shiny like a new penny! I did quickly rub some balistoll on it before photos.
