Title: Newman locks on an older sxs shotgun
Post by: Belld416 on September 19, 2023, 05:39:31 AM
I was curious to see if anyone knew anything about percussion locks on an older sxs black powder shotgun. I was about to buy one from a friend and it has Newman stamped on the lock. It possibly could be a Belgian made shotgun. It does have Damascus barrels and appears to be very good condition. I have not picked the gun up yet to look at the proof marks. I haven't found any information on " Newman" locks. I was curious to what era these locks were made.

Thanks!

Pictures will help and the REAL lock is on the back of the plate out of sight when in the gun.

I have seen many SXS shotguns marked "Newman", lower grade, made in Belgium, and they were all suppository guns!

You can. and should, say that again.
