I’m going to hype this again. There are cool early smoothbores in this book that I’ve never seen before. Photography is 1970s-80s black and white. Great historical information. I’m not sure his thinking on dating of Hudson Valley fowlers matches Grinslade’s but many of the guns are dated. There is a ton of inspiration for the builder of colonial fowlers in this book.

I’ll second the recommendation. Very interesting collection of longarms – a few of which are also documented in other books – but well done and NY focus is interesting. Only wish photos were color…
