Title: Gonter Sr & Jr Rifle auction results - Opinions?

This seemed to go cheap if the representation is accurate. I'd appreciate any educated opinions.

For those who cannot (or don't want to bother to) log in, the rifle sold for $2,750.00 (plus 24% buyer's premium).

Could be made by younger brother John Gonter; looks a bit late for Peter Gonter to me.

With the rear sight so far back, and such a short barrel for an octagon-to-round barrel, I'd guess the barrel has been shortened significantly and might have turned some bidders off... despite the "Gonter" name appearing centered between sight and breech.
