Title: fleam's for bloodletting

I've been taking pictures of items so the family wood know what they were . Here are a few fleams I ran across over the years . These were used for blood letting . I hope they were cleaner back then.They are brass, horn, stag and bone handled. I don't know alot about them as far as age just thought they were neat.  Thanks for looking .  Jim

I believe those configurations/styles were used primarily for horses, mules, cattle, etc.  Any maker's marks?

JSMOSBY,  Thanks for your comments.

jFrom what little reading I've done I believe these were used for both humans and veterinary purposes . I would guess the two bigest one were for animals.There was also a spring loaded one for people .
The horn one is marked Borwick . They were in business 1791-1860. Some of the later ones were marked Borwick cast steel. The stag handle one is marked  Jennings  sydney. Jim
