Title: Elementary Barrel Cross Section Drawing
Post by: Manitou on April 03, 2024, 04:49:57 PM
About 25 years ago I made a CAD drawing of cross sections of muzzleloader barrels of common widths in common calibers.
This was back when the old MLML (Muzzle Loader Mailing List) was operational. It has long since been replaced with much updated boards like this one.
I thought that I would post this drawing as a reference. It is in no way to be taken as gospel, and I welcome any suggestions, or corrections.

WOW!  Nice!  Do you by chance have common barrel sizes in common calibers?  Such as 7/8” in 45, 50, etc?

Even if you don’t these prints can be used to easily determine measurements with other calibers.

Sorry Steeltrap, I made this drawing back long before I retired and The only CAD I now have is Qcad which is a nice program, but takes an old guy like me forever to draw something. I made this mainly for inletting barrels, and just added the bores as an afterthought.
