The lock and sideplate panel do not appear to have been shaped for this particular lock.  I get the feeling that it was previoulsy fitted with a lock with a single lock bolt.  Percussion??

Additional information in response to questions asked about this gun has been added to the exhibit. ( 1.7.2010)

Looks like the RR pipes are of an earlier style than the rest of the gun. Just an observation.
