Title: Bruce Moyer’s passing

Bruce Moyer (1939-2024) of Emmaus, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully at home on July 17, 2024. He was an avid student and collector of early Pennsylvania rifles and a 60 year member of the Kentucky Rifle Association. He freely shared his profound knowledge and thoughts about American Long Rifles.

A Memorial Picnic will be held at the Emmaus Community Park, Moser Pavilion on Sept 14, 2024 at noon. RSVP to 781-964-3498. I and many others will greatly miss his mentorship.

My condolences on the loss of your dear friend. I am very glad I had the opportunity to meet Bruce at the KRA show and look over that Somerset combination gun with the two of you. Thank you for introducing me to him.

Very sorry to hear of it.  It's been a few years now since we last talked but he and I had many, many interesting conversations and a number of shared specific interests.

Bill I am sorry to hear about Bruce. I did not know Bruce well but I know he was a KRA member and a Student of the the Long Rifle. Prayers for his family.

I did not have the privilege of meeting Bruce, but I too will include him and his family in prayers. I hate to lose such valuable resources as long time KRA members.

All,

I had the pleasure of spending a lot of time with him in his gun room and via email. For a long time we had quizzes every two days, he would send photos of rifles and rifle anatomy. I would reply with my thoughts to each photo & question and he would grade the results. It was an interesting approach but we had a great time doing it. The man had an amazing amount of knowledge and managed to maintain it all the way to end. The highlight of every KRA show for me was watching Bruce and Louie Parker joust which always ended with Louie telling Bruce he didn’t know sh**.
