Some of you might remember this original German pistol that I fixed up a few years ago. I brought it out to the range today to try and figure out where it shoots before our Thanksgiving shoot next weekend. The load was 25 grains ffg and a patched .490 round ball. This was 3 shots at 15 yards offhand with 2 hands. It's a smoothbore with only a front sight. I've found that I need to show half the front blade, and aim at 4:00. Shoots pretty darn good for an 180 year old smoothbore.

Shooting pretty good there Justin. What does it do at 25 yards?

I'm not too sure yet. I ran out of time yesterday.

I hope your not ramming the ball down the barrel with your pistol on that loading stand…

I agree.THAT looks a bit "dicey"to me as well.

Agreed gents.

I was pouring powder and starting the ball, but removing it from the stand to push the ball down.
I took the pistol to the rendezvous in October, and won 2nd place in the pistol shoot with 9 hits out of 13 shots.

It's certainly shooting well for you, Justin!
