I had 80 grns 2f swiss blow my pocket drill #40 tallow patches, yet 80 3f looked great.....so I had overheard a conversation at Brads (cabin creek)table on double patching so I tried it and the patches got better as did the groups(not as good as 3f)
so here are 2 you tubes that may help others, one uses over patch the other tow (need to wade through his talking)
(and yes I did try thicker patching first but could not load in the tight bore of my getz barrel) with a 490 ball

Interesting. Couldn't load a thicker patch, but could load 2 thin ones. VERY Interesting.
In Taylor's .50 Rice barrel, we tried a .508" ball with .020" denim. It loaded just fine
and of course the patch was unharmed, just as his load of 85gr. 2F and .495" ball with
.020" denim worked fine as well. However, if increasing the powder charge over that 85
gr., the patch had to be thickened to 10 ounce denim as it was "on the edge" with the
85gr. load. The deep rifling needs thicker patching with heavier loads.
IIRC, Sam Fadala had to go to a patch over the powder to protect the ball's patch from burning out.
Had he gone to a thicker patch, he would not have needed the patch between the powder and his
patched ball.

I load the patch under the patch and ball watch the Idaho Lewis vid just like a felt wad under the load (I didn't have any with me at the range)
I use 10oz denim in most my guns but not this one , 490 ball and denim I had to pound the load down also grouped poorly gave up on 3rd shot then tryed the drill #40
