Title: American Eagle Powder Horn
Post by: Bob Gerard on March 31, 2025, 02:33:57 AM
A little different than my other horns, I decided to do an American Eagle and Shield motif for this horn. I used a few different color inks in the engravings and applied several light wipes of varnish for protection. I am really getting into Folk-Art designed horns.

That looks really good Bob. The polychrome makes it stand out.

Thank you TC.  The designs really came alive with the added coloring. I muted them by blending the inks at application and was happy with the results. Some final light applications of matte-finish wiping varnish over the horn was a new approach for me also, which I think I like.
