My current project is getting a little closer to the finish stage but still has a way to go. A few pictures for where it’s at now.

Can't wait to see how this develops. What style are you working in for this piece?
-
Snowmoon, this rifle is based on the wonderful early southern rifle by F. Klette of Virginia. I am not trying to make an exact replica but the stock architecture and overall artistic design is based on the original rifle. I will be posting more pictures over the next week or two.
-
You're a champ at that! Using 999 or Sterling?
-
Oooooooo. Beautiful. See you and Ron in Atlanta brother.
-
Beautiful work, thanks for the pics, keep them coming!
-
Marcruger, I will look forward to seeing you there.
-
Beautiful work Bama!

What are those black “dots” in the squares on the stock?
-
The black dots are tiny holes. I used the point of my scratch awl to make them. If you look at the original design, Klette used these in his design. These will close up a little during the staining process, I will have to re-punch the holes before the finish goes on.
-
Craig, sorry I just saw your question. I am using sterling silver which I think would be comparable to the coin silver used back in the day.
-
Absolutely beautiful, Jim. My Crew will miss ya’ll at Knoxville.

Looks nice! Sorry haven’t gotten with you about set trigger parts.

That ain't to shabby, really lookin good Jim
-
Dang Jim - you keep raising the bar. That is some fine looking work. I hope whomever is getting that masterpiece of art appreciates it!
-
Besutiful work Jim!
I like the way you are styling it. The holes I first thought were to be silver dots based upon the thread title.
Can't wait to see this finished.

Bob, thanks I will miss being at the Tenessee Show. I have only missed a couple in the last 20 years or so, It's a great show for southern guns. I will be there in spirits, Carl and Lisa Young will be manning a table for me, stop by and say hello to them. I hope you have a great show, and tell your protégé to keep producing that nice work he's doing.
