I have for sale a rifle machine. It has two twists, or leads. One is a 1 in 66 that speeds up to a 1 in 60 inch twist. The other is a 1 in 48 that speeds up to a 1 in 45. All connecting rods and other small parts included.

This machine was owned by Dennis Priddy. I'm not sure if he built it, but I think he did. It is heavy and solid. It can be rolled around by use of folding casters. It has had some major improvements made to it over the years. I have only rifled 50 caliber barrels on it and they are pretty accurate. It makes for an awesome deer gun.
I am asking $1500.00 or a reasonable offer. I used to be able to pick it up and put it in my truck, but those days are gone.

Where is it located?
-
I am located in Wadsworth Ohio. Not to far from the Log Cabin. Two hours north of Columbus
-
I am open to offers on this. If you have some machining skills this should be right up your alley. Rifling isn't all that complex or difficult, it's a matter of getting a feel for subtle changes and responding to them.
I'm hoping that a younger person would pick this up and run it. I've had it for the last 30 years and it's produced quite a few barrels.

What is the overall length of the machine (thinking transport here)?
What length barrels is it set up for/how long a barrel can it rifle?

It is 96 inches long. It has rifled barrels up to 46 inches long. I'm not sure how short a barrel it will do. I will measure the length between the keepers to help give an idea of minimal barrel length
-
The distance between the keepers is just a tad over 21 inches, that's from center to center.

To the top with this. Hard to believe that with so many views that this hasn't been picked up. There's gotta be some industrious folks out there who can run this
-
I'm interested, but have no practical experience with a rifling bench. If I were to take it, could you help me on a barrel when I come out to pick it up? Would it break down enough to fit in my 6.5' truck bed?

The machine can be removed from the leg assembly. The leg assembly is 6 feet long, whereas the machine itself is 8 feet long. The machine is held fast to the legs by two bolts, so it will take down rather easily. I'm pretty sure it will fit.
As far as help I'll do the best I can, what I can is introduce you to some outstanding people that can provide barrels, cutters, rifling heads. If you have a lathe and lathe skills you'll be quick to pick this up.

Back to the top with this.....surprised by the number of views this has received, even though there is not much discussion about it

Back up top with this. Surprisingly I would have thought there would be more questions regarding this or an inquiry or two of some substance
