I have a powder horn that I made. It appears that the powder that has been in a couple of years has hardened. I have used a wire with a hook in it but no success. Any suggestions.

Try taking a piece of heavy gauge Copper wire a little longer than the horn and chucking it up in a variable speed drill put it in the spout and on low speed to start see if it will break it up smaller. The Copper is flexible enough that it will move around, it takes some time but it has worked for me. Another is a spoon full of BBs down the spout and shaken has also worked by itself and with the above. It's gonna take some time depending on how much powder is in it. You could try washing it out but it is a mess...

Sounds like your horn might have an air leak to let in moisture? As Tim mentioned water is messy but multiple doses of very hot water with a little Dial soap, shaken, dumped, repeated, might help.
