Title: If it were a Hawken?
Post by: Jim Kibler on May 04, 2025, 09:14:31 PM
Here's a neat pistol, I think made in the New England states.  Same era as Hawken work.  What do you think it would be worth if signed Hawken?  Now, I think the asking price  has been $2500 and it's been for sale for a while.  Funny how this stuff works...

Was it made by Simeon North? If North's signature or stamp was on it, would have sold.

If it had J Kibler on the barrel, it would have sold for more as well!  :D

I have made a number of locks with the J&S Hawken name on the plate but certainly did not copy their mechanisms and the closest I came to it was a lock that had only full cock. The last one I started was like that but never finished.

Has the barrel been removed from the stock? It might be a Tom Dawson basement project.Look at the lock if possible.

It's an original piece.
