Can anyone ID this barrel marking?

To me the letters look like ELC with a star underneath.

It's a Belgian proofmark.

It is the Belgian Liege proof mark used on their earlier guns. After 1893, they added a crown above the oval.
What is it on??

It is on what I believe to be a fowler made up of various parts using a Belgian barrel. It is not mine, I will see if I can get some pictures.
