Here's a club I made a while back. Locust. Stained with walnut hulls.

Incredible! Good work!!!! I would have imagined you got it out of a museum.
What’s the length?
-
Thanks, Bob. I appreciate your encouragement.
It's about 26". That's a little longer than most antiques. Johnson's Accoutrements IV has photos of clubs ranging from 14-25".

Love the club. love the finish, it looks great!

Nice job of carving, Whetrock! The war club looks all business - in an elegant way. What is the wood, walnut?

Thanks. The wood is black locust.

Thanks for the reply.
VERY hard wood - perfect for a war club I would think!!

If that club had been shown in the antiques forum, no one would have questioned it's validity. Amazing work.

That's gonna leave a mark! Thanks for sharing!

Absolutely outstanding in every way.

Very Cool!

Brave man to play with hard black locust, but it looks great!
-
Very cool. I need to whittle one of those out once I find the right chunk of wood.

Thank you, guys, for the encouragement.
Yes, it is very hard wood. Primary market value is as fence posts.
-
Very nicely done, looks like original
-
Very nice work.
Years ago I attempted to make the same with bois d arc but the wood would always split on me when curing.
