Up for sale is this Caywood French Pistol, built in 2015. I purchased it as used from the original owner and will include the letter from Danny Caywood as well as the order with the pistol. Price $1,450, shipping to lower 48 states included. Currently the pistol in smoothbore is $2,100 with rear sight costing an extra $40. A rifled pistol barrel is not on the current price list, but at the time of order, the rifled upcharge was $50.
The barrel is 7.25 inches, octagon to round, swamped with cannon crown style muzzle, has a small brass blade front and brass rear sight. Overall length is 12 inches.
It was fired by the original owner who reported it to perform well, but I have not fired it so can't speak to that. I have struck the lock so can verify that it sparks well. Overall the condition is very good +. The bore is immaculate, there is no rust or corrosion on the metal and the wood is excellent with a few minor handling marks. The only finish irregularity is a small area of blue loss on the barrel, which was brought to my attention by the seller. I've not attempted to restore that patch of finish as I preferred to leave it "as is".
