The photos on this post from Dec 8, 2013 are gone, but it sounds like a nice rifle from the comments. I recently went to look at what I was told was a Stahl rifle, and it is signed C. Stahl on the barrel, which I beleive is the only part on the gun that is of Stahl origin. I was expecting a Lancaster style stock , but it looks more like a Berks Co. and there are a lot of relocated barrel pin holes in the forestock. I took a couple of pictures with my phone, but did not ask permission to post.  I would really like to see a photo or two of a signed gun to compare. Is there any way to retrieve the lost photos ? or is there any members here who might have a photo to share ?  Thank you, Roland

Rich, thanks for doing the repair.  At least the pictures are now somewhat viewable.  Too bad Photobucket had to plaster their logo all over the pictures.

Hopefully the author of the post in question will see this and be able to reattach the pictures, if he still has them.

Thank you, I really appreciate your time and effort in restoring theese. I can see for sure now that the barrel on the rifle I was looking at has been transplanted into another stock. Was this style of wrist checkering popular on Lancaster area guns just around the start of the percussion era, say, 1825 or so ?  Or did it show up before that time ?  Thank you, Roland
