Another great looking classic by Hacker Martin…..I love it. I see similarities between the markings on that one and the two that I have

A loooong time ago Hacker Martin wanted to get locks from me and wanted a big discount. A local maker,Glen Napier was the same when it came to the locks. Both wanted  cheap locks with English quality and I hope they found them.Hacker Martin was a known maker then and few ever heard of Glen Napier who was on a hill side in Kenova,W,Va about 5 miles from my home. One of Napier's students was Norris Sperry who was on his way to being rated as a master engraver when cancer took him and he was also in Kenova.Names from the long gone past and worth remembering.

This gun looks pretty plain for Hackers work. I’ve seen a couple of guns (one of them here) that just don’t measure up to Hackers work. The supposition on the one seen here was that somebody got their hands on Hackers stamp and stamped a few gun he didn’t build. I’m just sayin’ this is pretty plain.
