The jaeger I am working on will have these fancy cast metal pieces on the sliding patch box lid. I am a long way from working on that part yet, but every time I look at them I wonder how I can most easily cut off the casting sprues.

Epoxy them to a board, then when done a bit of heat will release them.

Don’t cut all of the spruce off. You need a bit to drill an hole thru for pins to retain brass piece to wood. Suggest B you call/discuss with Ron Scott.
