: OK- it's about time, eh? Hope everyone has been practising - we haven't even fired one shot from a chunk, so I expect the winner could possibly be from the States, but not likely. HA!
: Who wants to do this?
: I've talking this over with some of the guys, and have decided that since I'm on a disability pension & of limited funds ie: too many other expensive hobbies, I am requesting that entrants send me a $3:00 MoneyOrder in International funds. If it is US funds, I will not be able to cash it up here.
: For this $3:00 MO, I will buy large brown envelopes and mail 10 marked match targets to you. The cost to me will be in excess of $3.00, but it will be close.
: Rules:
1/.- Normal hunting-trail walk rifles only - no calibre restriction. No Match-type Chunk Rifles. No false muzzles.
2/.- There will be NO re-entries. Screwing up is part and parcel with shooting a match in Canada. I am not going to make any money with this postal match, so there is no point in a re-entry.
3/.- Patched round ball only. Open sights only - non adjustable.
4/.- Prone - means laying on the ground - with a front rest only (NO rear bags), using a 'chunk' of wood, log or adjustable rest for the forend or barrel. Front bag allowed. I do not see any reason to exclude a modern tri-pod-type adjustable rest as they offer no advantages over the rests used in Chunk shooting competition.
4/.- Spotter's or 'bud's of your design may be used of course, as we may not be able to see the black around the 'X'. Place it as you wish on each successive target. You may shoot a group on the spotter so see where you are shooting and place it appropriately.
5/.- Range 50 yards. Total 5 record targets, 10 shots - 2 only per target. This 10 yard closer range than normal is due to our use of our rendezvous rifles only instead of heavy match rifles, as well as most suitable ranges offer a marked 50 yard range.
6/.- Spotting scopes allowed, but since targets are replaced between shots, there is not much point.
7/.- Targets are posted 1 at a time for each shooter. Because there are 2 shots shot per target, there will be no 'doubles' ie: targets with more than 2 holes. Doubles add inches to the score(all are measured for that shot's score). If you double (more than 2 shots on one, do not shoot at all 5 targets but leave the appropriate # off one of the successive targets. All holes in the targets will be meaured plus 5" will be added for each penalty. Double whammy - This means if 11 shots are fired, your string will have 11 shots measured + 5" will added to the measure. I repeat, if you double on a target, one of the returned targets must be missing that shot or shots. I MUSt be able to measure all bullet holes. Since there are 2 shots per target and I expect some close shooting, however I will be able to tell if 2 balls entered the same hole - they will not be 'exactly' in the same hole, trust me on that. I've been scoring match targets for 35 years, so -- I've seen the varmint.
8/.- Shaders are allowed.
9/.- All entries(MO's) must be received by the 16th of July.
;10 - The bottom of each target has a box for recording data. Please mark one with your name, calibre used, load (powder), bullet(ball) weight - put in here the ball diameter. 'Notes' line should have patch material, thickness and lube. Do this on one of the 5 match targets only.
: 11/. - All returned targets must be postmarked 16th August or earlier.
: Participants send MO's or cash along with return addresses to:

Geez,
I feel somewhat intimidated by this "new" site. ??? I'm not a builder(yet),not a collector(yet),just a happy shooter of flintlocks. I have a gun and a rifle. I do appreciate the wonderfull skills of all the builders in here, new and old.Just haven't had the funds or worked up some skill at being a builder. My interests are in the historical events that influence the way you gents build these great rifles and guns. I guess I'm just a history nut and love the old ways. I have made a few small items and accoutrements but have left the big jobs for you artisans and just buy what I like. Hope I can fit in here somewhere.
Thanks to all who have done so much good work to keep the site going and to all for the new one.
Sorry Daryls, didn't know where to post this thread,so I'm leaning on you,LOL!!,thanks. roy
-
Got 5 entries for the chunk match. 2 sent out today and the other 3 tomorrow.
: Remember 2 shots per target as there are only 5 enclosed, along with a spotter.
-
Found the new site. Daryl, will you be listing the names of the entries as they come in? Just wondering. :)
-
Wasn't going to list until they're all in - deadline 15th July I believe. I send guys/no gals yet e-mails to let them know their entries are in. I'm planning on a 1st. August for the postmark on targets. I'm open in this if it's too soon.
-
I did get the email verification. Thanks Daryl!
An August 1 postmark is ok with me even though I have a pretty full schedule in July, but if that's the post mark date, I'll make it! :)
-
Considering the end-date for sending off registrations is 16th July, lets make the close date the 16th of August. I'll ammend the 'rules'.
; editing this- 16th August end date. - this date should give me time to mark targets and publish the results before Hefley. Not sure when I'm going to get time for Salmon fishing, though. It's in there somewhere. The dates for the "Northern Sapergia" weekend on 'Babine' haven't been finalized.
-
August 16th post mark date does help me out quite a bit! Thanks for extending it.
Daryl, you got to make time for Salmon fishing!
-
Daryl, my entry is on the way. I too like the 16th of August extension. Just tried the chunk shooting position and didn't do so well. Have never shot like that so need a bunch of practice. Thanks.
-
Placement of the forestock does make differences in point of impact and group size - at least in my longrifle. The difference is quite pronounced. I thought you guys in the South had been practising since the snow melted in January? ;D
-
Snow didn't melt away down here in the south until April....and I should have started to practice then but this thing called a job keeps interfering with my time. Just getting around to practicing now......when I retire in the next year or 2 hopefully I will have more time. :o
-
I received another entry by Eric Lau. I can't find his e-mail addy. Eric, hope you see this. I've been mail.ing entrants to let them know theri targets are on the way. Your's will go out today. I'll mail it on the way out to the rondyvous - It's our last day. Ton o' fun.
-
My targets are here! I found them on the table when I got back from the KRA show.
I have to break out the fixens to get some practice in.
Do you make copies of the spotter or just use the same spotter to place over the new target each time? :-[ There will be only one hole in the spotter any way so I guess it really isn't necessary ;):D ;D
-
As I understantthe scenario, you shoot 5 or whatever shots at the spotter to get a good point of impact when aiming at the centre of the spotter target before the match or shoot is started, then place that spotter's group over the centre of the match target, so the ball will impact as close to the X as possible. Moving that same group each time over the next target would ensure your point of impact.
; The reason to use a group, is that shooting over a chuck with a hunting rifle that is sighted for offhand shooting, then is rested on a bag or block, somewhere on the forestock or entry pipe, or ramrod, will change the point of impact of the rifle. I tested mine and moving the rifle's postion forward by only 6", raised the point of impact 2" and moved it 1/2" to the left. Proper use of a spotter is a good idea, and that's why I included one in the mailing.
You could make copies, or simply go to www.targetz.com and download it and print it for yourself. I think they were both on normal targets and page 10. Note the match targets are all initialled.
-
My targets arrived yesterday as well. Need to get the 4th of July and Fur Trade Days behind me, then its off to the range with the Dickert for some belly shootin over the log. Thanks Daryl for taking this on. :)
-
Daryl.
Thanks for that description. I will see what kind of group my rifle will shoot while over the log.
-
Pleasure, Joe, and Dave. I'll be out of town for a week from the 9th to about 14th July, but will have all those entries received by the 15th mailed out that date. That will still give at least 3 weeks to shoot the match - still lots of time.
-
Come on guys, still lots of time to enter. I've only received 7 entries in the mail + 1 here, but know there are another 4 to 6 here to enter for sure. The more there are, this better we'll have to shoot. Just mailed off Dave M's and Erik L's yesterday. Roger- yours is on the way - sorry forgot I'd already sent it (my mistaken post on your thread :-[). Still lots of time - must be post marked by 16th July, not due to return until postmarked 16th August. There were a LOT more " Count me in's" in previous threads about the chunk match last spring than entries I've received.
: For those driving to Hefley this year, Diesel fuel here in town is $1.487 per litre, about 6 cents per litre higher than gasoline. That computes to
$6.751 per Imp gallon, X .8 = $5.368 per US gallon :o. Doesn't sound very good in either 'language'.
; Gasoline hit $1.423 in some stations, $1.433 in others - much cheaper at $6.506 per gallon. :'(
-
Hi Daryl, the targets arrived in the mail today. I'll probably shoot them early next week.
George
-
Good luck, George.
-
Rex W. your targets will be in the mail this afternoon. Tks for entering.
-
Daryl,
Haven't had a chance to let you know but my targets arrived earlier this week. Will get them back ASAP. Taking the grandson to the National Youth shoot in Friendship in 2 weeks. It will be our 5th time down for it, I think Scott Mings has the best youth program going.
Mark 8)
-
No rush - lots of time. Have fun at friendship - gotta be special with your young kin.
-
Daryl,
You bet it's special. Devon, my grandsaon, is now 13 and this will be his 5th Youth Shoot. He's brought home medals several times but the memories, friends and lessons that he has learned are the most important things that we both come home with. Will let you know how he does.
Mark
-
My money etc is in the "mail". You should probably receive this coming week, if the canoes and ponies make it through. ;D
-
Taylor is heading East tomorow, while I'm going on Thursday. All entries that come in Wed. or earlier, will be mailed Wed or earlier. Don't fret, we'll be back by the 19th I think, then all those that came in while I was away, will go out on the 20th.
: Tell you what - those who haven't send an entry to me already but have recieved no notice of me sending out targets, or those who are going to send in an entry before 16th July - mail me and i'll send them out early this week. I'll need ALR handle, full name, address and postal/zip code.
-
Guys - if you are going to send in your entries in the next 2 weeks, mail me and I'll get your targets mailed before I leave for Ontario for 9 days. I'll be gone from the 10th to the 19th. Sure glad I have an alarm system in this house.
-
Daryl, if you're coming to Ontario, you could just drop my targets off ;D

Hi bob- where is Charbot Lake? We'll be pretty busy visiting relatives, but are driving to Clinton on Saturday. - Any help
-
Hi Daryl. Sharbot Lake is about one hour north of Kingston. The beginning of August, is the start of the Ontario Provincial M.L. matches , in Chatham. A few of us here will be heading down there , hoping to try our luck in the Soper match. Chatham is about 7 or 8 hours drive from here.
-
Oh ya, I was just kidding about dropping the targets off!!!!! Clinton is a good day's drive from here!
-
Daryl received my targets today I'm getting out my .32 lefthand Lancaster flinter for the match. Sure will feel different not using my 25 pound flint log gun. But will be just as much fun. Eric D. Lau Riverdale Michigan
-
Tks Bob and Eric. I just received Hank's entry and it will hit the mail tomorrow morning.
-
Getting around today to leave for Rendezvous tomorrow morning, but I figured I would go out and shoot my targets this morning - so I did. Get the ol' rifle warmed up for tomorrows matches you might say...
Anyway, I don't feel I did all that bad with my flinter. Had a couple 'bad' flyers, but overall I was happy with my results. I will feel the up and down and walkin' tonight and in the morning I'm sure, but I'll walk it off in the
woods walk tomorrow.
Truth be known, I feel I did better with no front and rear shader's over my sights with my .45 Dickert - then when I use my .40 caliber Chunk Rifle I built a few years ago.
Thanks again Daryl, good program, and had fun doing it. I'll mail the targets in when I get back from Rondy. Enjoy friends! :)
-
Daryl, got my targets today. Thanks for running this. Now if I can only get the hang of shooting from the laying down position. Need more practice thats for sure. Thanks again. 8)
-
Good stuff, guys. Will be back on the 19th. have fun and a great time in the days coming.
-
Hey Daryls,
Before ya run, where is that addy for chunk targets? This time I'll add it to my favourites. Sorry for the bother. I'll pay up when you get back.,thanks
-
It's www.targetz.com - I think 10th page of normal targets. #'s 10141 and 10142. They also have different animal targets for fun shoots.
-
Arghhh! Sorry Daryl, but my neck is acting up too much as of late & the chiropractor can't losen it up enough. !@*%&@ whiplash injuries! I can't shoot prone because my head won't lift back far enough to see the sights in that position... :'(
-
That's too bad, Harry - sorry to hear of your neck problems - have your son did a trench and lay in that. I saw some cool parascope apparatus's for shooting out of the front line trenches at the War musium in Ottawa? Might be fun to make? See you at Hefley.
-
Thanks Daryl, I knew you would understand, we're both a bit crippled up, what with being the same age & all! ;) Yes, I look forward to camping next to you again this year... save me that spot again if you can please!
-
Bob M. you have mail.
: Get out there guys, only one set of targets is in now. TKS, Roger.
; I wonder if we could make this a sticky until after the shoot? Moderator?
-
Got mine mailed off this morning. Went out Air Mail from down here, so keep watching the sky Daryl for a Mail plane to fly over and toss out my envelope of targets. :)
-
Thanks Marty. Will keep a lookout - try to keep the sea gulls and crows from fighting over it.
-
Mike L. Your targets are on the way.
-
Thanks Daryl! :)
Liiking forward to this match. All new to me. Biggest obstacle is getting my oversize butt up down from the ground!! :D
-
I Went out this evening and shot my targets. I find there is a reason that I dont shoot paper targets. I reall need to practice more often and work up a good load. The other thing is I thought it would be trick to staple up the sighter target and slip the for score target under it by folding back top and bottom of the target well I did so poorly in my shooting that I hit the folded over paper so instead of two holes on that target I have four when folded out flat. :-[ I will go on record as the longest string measure for this match. I guess the good news is that I will be able to improve my score the next time around by not folding the targets :D good luck shooting guys.
-
Taylor and I did some practising this morning and early afternoon. Shooting of a 'chunk' is interesting to say the least :o. There's lots to learn about it & we aren't finished practising. just when you think you've got it figured out, the shots go wild again. It definitely isn't like bench shooting. Here's Taylor letting loose with his .50 "Ginny". I'm using the old rifle with the.40 barrel. Note Taylor's straight legs. That's too hard on the back for me now, as well as way back when when I shot prone in competition.

-
Dave B.- I attempted to return your e-mail, but it was sent back. You need to put me on your accept list , please. I re-sent it.
-
Just got Candle Snuffer's targets and have them scored - good stuff. Here's one of the pictures Roger sent - it's the rifle he used for his targets. Note the 'professional's sight hoods, as well as the tanned dear hide he used as a matt. Looks like a 'good' solid chunk to shoot off. BTW- his targets were very good - well, some of them, as happens to all.
: Don't be discouraged - get your targets shot and sent in - you are all competitive. One thing I did notice, is the postage on the envelopes. It costs just over 1/2 as much to sent to Canada as it does to send to the States FROM Canada.

-
Has anyone 'spidered' an 'X' as yet, Daryl?
-
Negative. The X is quite elusive, but Neil Hunter hasn't shot his targets yet. :o We are lucky his son chose not to enter, but then, a challenge is the reason for the match in the first place.. Taylor and I will be shooting ours soon. I think he's going to use the Kuntz .40 and I'll use .40 as well.
: Time is running out, entries must be mailed by the 15th this month.
-
Daryl,
You are right about that elusive X. I chased it around pretty good but it kept getting away. They aren't very competitive, but I mailed the targets back today. Thanks for your efforts, friendly competition is is always appreciated.
Mark
-
Tks, Mark - it's amazing how all these "Not competitve" targets look pretty good to me.
-
Daryl,
How many entries did you get and what kind of strings are you getting back so far?
Mark
-
We've a good bunch of entrants, but not as many as said they'd participate when asked last year. The strings will be posted when the event is over, sorry.
-
We've a good bunch of entrants, but not as many as said they'd participate when asked last year. The strings will be posted when the event is over, sorry.
So, all you shooters out there that said yes; but did not compete!! Why not???

Does anyone have a count on the number that said they'd throw their hat in the ring and compete as compared to number that actually did compete?
Just wondering?
-
I'm shooting my targets today so they will be on their way tomorrow. Needed a lot of practice. ;D
Dave
-
I expect to shoot my targets either today, or tomorrow at the latest. Good intentions, but busy schedules...don't count the late shooters out yet!
-
Don't worry, Bob. We've not shot our targets yet either. Still time, but wil have to do them soon- like maybe tomorrow. The Sockeye are in the river and all reports so far are fantastic. All silver, and extra large this year- up to 13 pounds heaviest so far. THAT is a big Sockeye Salmon. Flyrods only - and no bears on the river yet to dice things up a bit.

Jeez: If I had to get that close to a buster like that I'd give up fishing! Come to think of it I did that already! Years ago after falling in to this ML 'trap' ;D
-
Yeah, isn't he cute - the chocolate and silver one, that is. Here's a very sort video of one of his brothers, not taken with a telephoto lense setting, by the way. I think that's the remains of the last fisherman who challenged him. ;D

Well, yesterday was one of the few days here that we didn't get rain, so I shot my targets.
Just managed to make the mail too.
-
Tks, Bob.
-
My targets are in the mail as well. Worst I have shot in 2 months. I think me and chunk shooting don't like each other.
-
Dave, Taylor thinks as you do.
-
It's looking like I'm screwed! :(
We have had no rain to speak of for 6 or 8 weeks and now, on the day I was able to schedule a range trip, it's been raining all night and continues to rain! :o
Any chance we can extend the deadline? :-[
-
Daryl's gone fly fishing for Sockeye salmon with his daughter...he'll be back after the weekend.
From what he has said about the match, there are VERY few entries. I've been out a couple of times to practice but my shooting was dismal . Shooting any other way except on my pins is next to impossible for me. Oh well. I'll have to live with my targets.
-
I'm baaaaaack! Got the Sockeye all packaged up, some ready for the butcher to cut into steaks, some cut into meal-chunks for us, some frozen for full-length BQ's. Oh, no bears there this year - YET.
: Tracy got her limit and so did I. Laura got a couple the first day, but since she didn't have her waders, found the water a bit chilly, so didn't fish the morning we left. She'll be back fishing tomorrow. Fishing was great for us, even though we only had a day and 1/2 of it. We released quite a few and kept some really nice ones. - we've 2 over 10 pounds, a very good size for Sockeye. I broke one 9 weight rod - my fault, so I caught most on my 15' Spey rod - kind of a dirty trick on the salmon.
: So far - only 2 entries returned - looking for some more soon.
-
Received Mark H and David M's targets today. thanks guys. I'll get them scored after supper. Being a week day I cook - this ain't gonna be pretty, but then Sockeye steaks are easy to cook. A little sweet soy-sauce with Wasaby mixed in makes raw salmon, Oh, so good!.
-
Received Dave B's targets last night and will score shortly.
: BTW- since target mailing-in is over, I can note that I have reveived many less targets back than were registered. Sounds as if folks found it more difficult than first perceived. We may do this again next year, so start practising.
: I might as well let the cat out of the bag. The entry fees will be paid out to the winners. That means the $80.00 collected as match fees will be distributed to the top 3 places. It isn't much, but that's all that came in.
: I'll bring this back to the top and post the results and list of participants after we get back from Hefley Creek. We leave this Friday morn.
: My special thanks to those 16 who entered.
-
Bob Miller's targets just arrived - mailed from Ontario on the 12th. The dog sled must have run into some dry rockey ground, slowed it down a bit.
-
Daryl,
I think we need to have a " most improved" shooter catagory for next year. I will be a shoe in. ;D ;D ;D
Dave B
-
;D David - not as bad as you might think.
-
I am sure that I will be number 16 the way I shot. I don't golf because the more I practice the worse I get and that was the same experience I had with chunk shooting. I shoot very well off hand and with the sticks so I am going to stay with that. ::)
-
Dave,
Don't give up, chunk shooting is one of the most agravating games you can play with a rifle. To watch it, it doesn't look like it should be difficult to shoot tight groups from a rest, WRONG!! Keep at it, it's also one of the funner games going.
Mark :)
-
Well, you're probably wondering what happend to the Chunk Shoot. Out of 15 entries, there were only 7 returned targets. Scoring was all done by me with the same set of calipers, using a paper covered foam board as backing. All targets were scored as close as I could measure, to the nearest thou. with partial thou going to the lower full thousanth rather than raised. Measuring was centre of the ball to the centre of the + . The money sent in, $5.00 average per participant, rather than the $3.00 requested, is being divided between the winners. Note that I said last year, I would put this on out of my own pocket. Taylor, Neil and I didn't get around to entering - next year we will! Perhaps this could be an annual event with hostings running around the ALR board?
: Of those returned targets, the string measures were as follows:
: 1st. place 4.264" - Mark Herman - $40.00 - GM barrel - .50 no load data
: 2nd place 6.711" - Roger Fisher - $20.00 - Getz? - 45 - .454 ball, spit + .015 patch - 60gr. 3F sheutzen
: 3rd place 9.039" - 'Candlesnuffer' aka Joe Martin $10.00 - .45(.445 bore) .445 ball + .017 ticking + lube 1000+spit + 55gr.
3F GOEX
: Closest to the + was David Marsh @ .269" $5.00 - .50 - .495" ball + .018" patch + spit + 50gr. ? powder
: 10.998"
: 13.639"
: 17.383"
: 24.470"
: Congratualtions guys. I'm sure the shooting will be tigher next year.
My thanks to all who participated It was fun doing this - You who compete are all champions.
: ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Oh - forgot to mention - I'll mail the 'winnings' out tomorrow.
-
Daryl,
First, thank you for taking the time to put the postal shoot together. I, and I am sure everyone, appreciate the time and effort it takes. I for one hope it becomes an annual event, perhaps the Canadian/American chunk shoot. For the record, I shot a 50 caliber Green Mountain barrel with a .495 RB and .20 pre lubed patch in front of 90 grs 3f goex, mounted on a H&A underhammer action. Congrats to all who shot.
Mark
-
I would also like to thank Daryl for putting this on and also extend my thanks to everyone who was a part of this.
Yes, I to think this would make a great annual event and feel that we
should discuss it further over the Fall/Winter/Spring to help make this
happen.
Great fun! :)
-
I want to thank Daryl as well. I always appreciate the chance to learn something when shooting, and this was an eye opener. Frankly, I have shot better groups offhand in my day. In practice, the gun shot high , so I compensated..and shot low! I am definately going to have to look into this chunk shooting thing a little more. Lots of fun. :)

Congrats to Mark - his string was super good :'( Thanks also to Daryl for doing this. Surpirsed that more entries didn't happen!!! :o Hope it continues to be held annually or better (ol boys can't wait too long you know)
My hope is that since the entrants are spread around the US and Canada that it will stir up some clubs to put on chunk/log matches in their shoot programs and keep that game alive. P.S. it gives the ol boys that can no longer hold their own offhand a new/old game to play ;D

Thanks guys - any event is worthless if it doesn't demand commitment and skill to compete. Chunk shooting is one of those In Spades. Looks easy, but is much more difficult than benching, that's for sure. Bench groups have little in common with chunk groups - even though the prone is a favourite positon of mine, it is very much more difficult than I imagined. Next year's Chunk Shoot will have more entrants and competitors, I'm sure.
If anyone needs their targets back, let me know by mail. Just click on my name at the left side of any post and go from there.
Best wishes to the 4 winners of this event, the 1st ALR Annual Chunk Shoot.
My special thanks to all who made this possible with their entries.

Daryl, thanks so much for running this. I thoroughly enjoyed it even though I got discouraged at the end as I did not shoot as well as I usually do . I can't believe I won anything. So I guess I will take Smokinbuck's advice and not give up on chunk shooting. Just practice some more. Anyway -- thanks and you can count on me for the next one. Cheers.
P.S. If you haven't sent the prize money keep it to pay for the next postal match and save us the postage.....
Assuming you are going to run the next one......

Daryl,
As all have said, This has been fun and I look forward to what we put together for next year.
I dont get to shoot at all as much as I used to but this was a great time.
Dave Marsh,
I think I get to claim that 24" string with how I shot so we may have a hot compition for who is dead last next year. ;D
Thanks again for your work on this.

Hey Guys, Denny Minshall from Moscow, Idaho just dropped in for a couple or few days visit. He arrived just after 10PM, left his home in Idaho at 4AM. He's on his way to Anchorage where his wife is already working. They're moving, lock, stock and barrel, literally. Nice guy! Perhaps I can pursuade him to wade through all his 'stuff' in the truck to find his longrifle - I feel a few hours at the range coming up - maybe a short fishing trip, who knows. We talked until after midnight, now, at 7:20AM, he's still sawing logs.

Here's a picture of the winning targets - Mark Herman! Great shooting. Underhammer .50 - "U" notch with small bead. gonna have to try that sighting myself. The bead in the bottom of the "U" looks like an aperature sight, yet can be raised in the notch for longer ranges. For hunting, it wouldn't be very good as most of a small target animal would be obscured.

Daryl, Looks like fun. I shoot over-the-log here in Midhigan with Eric Lau. Put me on your mailing list for the next shoot and I'll join you.

Oh....so that's where the shots are supposed to go! :D Now that I know, I hope to do better next time!

I'm embarrased. I was thinking about the targets, and in particular, Mark's fantasticly low score. Something didn't feel right, so I decided to re-check the numbers, and lo and behold, I'd missed adding in the score from one target. I had actually, I'd missed scoring the target all together and only had 4 targets listed on the envelope. It tured out to be his 3rd best for a total of .985" for the two shotswhich made a grand total of 5.349". He still earned first place, but I'm also feeling better about the scores.
-
Daryl,
If you recall when you first talked about my score, I thanked you for being generous. Glad it got right, there are a lot of fellows out there trying hard. Thanks again.
Mark
-
Yes, you did say you thought I was being over generous. Kinda made me wonder some as you'd rough-scored your target first. That's something I always do on postals myself, however I don't mark it on the targets.
-
I don't think I posted this picture. Note the lube of choice on the bench - that is Taylor practising.

Wow! Looks a lot warmer there than here today buddy! ;)
-
Yeah - I had to post this for those who are in the grip of winter. Nothing much else on the news here. Was a lot warmer - not to hot though, probably in the low 60's.
-
I missed the last shoot. When is the next shoot?
-
Just looked outside - doublt it's any time soon. ;D
