Comments:


"Jacob Schleppy" as signed on the side plate was known to live in Allentown, PA area from 1756-1812. Hundreds of Schleppy surname families live in PA and Colorado.

A good attic find, in 'as found' condition. this is a great example of a regional variation of the NE PA rifle styles. Schleppy remains a little known maker, which is a shame because his work exhibits a folksy charm, as well as fine workmanship..

 Schleppy was not likely the maker....probably the owner.
