Title: Searching for Dolep fowling piece photo
Post by: Jim Kibler on May 16, 2011, 06:57:29 PM
I am looking for a photo of the Andrew Dolep fowling piece that resides in the Armeria Reale, in Turin, Italy.  This gun has a silver wire inlayed monogram mark of the Medici family on the butstock.  At one point I saw some good photos that I believe were online, but can't seem to locate them now.  I believe I originally saw the photos at the British Royal Armory website, but they aren't there now.  I have checked my reference material and haven't found photos their either.  Specifically I am looking for a photo showing the wire inlayed monogram.  The Armeria Reale collections website shows a very low resolution image, that is not a great deal of help.  I guess this is another longshot, but thought It was worth a try.

Thanks,
Jim
