A splendid rifle in great shape, and one which is dated. This gun by Daniel Border is an outanding example of what a Bedford County rifle is. It exhibits fine workmanship in wood, metal work, composition, and architecture. The patchbox and the lock stand out as especially representative of the school. This beautifully made, graceful rifle retains good condition and deserves a place in the Library.

This is a very distinctive Bedford rifle with its classic Bedford patchbox, tear drop inlays behind the side facings, etc. It is a fine example of a classic Bedford rifle for the virtual museum.
