This is my first try at a leather canteen. It is sealed with beeswax, and holds a few drops shy of 2 cups of water. The stopper is a piece of whitetail antler.

Nice work. Well proportioned and well executed.
But does bourbon dissolve beeswax?

That's one heck of a nice looking canteen. Well done! I'm impressed with the stitching!
Larry - forget Bourbon - what do you think it would do to Ireland's finest malts? I could use such a device - if beeswax will stand up to it! Methinks a test is in order! :D

Thanks for the compliments everyone. It didn't turn out to bad for the first one. I only wish I would have made it a little bigger.
I am not sure if bourbon would react with the beeswax. My guess would be no, it should not be a problem.

Well now, if you want one a "little bigger" there's the perfect excuse to make another one! ;)
No such thing as ahving too many! :D

Actually, if it held enough bourbon, or Irish malt, it wouldn't matter what happened to the beeswax!!!
Mark ;D
