Title: Shreck 1855 Final pictures up.

I thought it was exceptionally nice.

Very nice indeed; the engraving is very pleasing to the eye.

It appears some of the screws are flat top, others are slightly oval top? May be the shadows.

I have been told he did blacksmith work as well as gunbuilding but judging from the number of rifles I have found I am sure gunsmith was his primary occup.

I came across a similarly designed target rifle a couple years ago that was not quite as ornately decorated, but
the condition was a bit rougher. I also wondered if this might be his personal rifle, but unless the owner finds
the documentation from his grandfather, we will never know. Of course we have his son's personal rifle
in the Library (swivel breech listed under Lincoln Shreckengost)
