E Albright Percussion Rifle

According to John Bivin’s book Longrifles of North Carolina, Ellis Albright was a gunsmith in Alamance County North Carolina, reportedly in Albright Township.  Ellis was born in 1793.  The full stock is made of plain Maple with no butt plate, cheek piece or entry thimble.  The rifled barrel is about .36 caliber and is 40 inches long.  Ellis Albright is signed in script on the top flat of the barrel.  During its life, the barrel has been shortened 2 inches.  The trigger guard and both ramrod thimbles are made of brass.
