Here is my latest project, probably a crazy idea but seems to work alright. Specs mild steel about 1 foot long 3/16" thick, convex grind with simple leather handles, bone and charcoal color case hardened. The blade was a bit dirty after testing so the pictures aren't the greatest.

Well I really like throwing knives, and throwing knives...so I really like this one a lot!

Thanks, my only complaint was that it seemed a bit light at 14 ounces. I made another one and this one is much bigger, about 14 inches and 3/8 inch thick. It weighs just one ounce shy of two pounds. I also made leather handles for this one, but chose to put a set of curly maple on it which probably won't last long. I need to find some decent large head screws with slots, the ones I used just don't feel right. I may end up welding them up and cutting slots in. If I make any more I think I might try buffalo horn as it seems pretty durable.

Good question...never have tooo many knives!

Is there an official weight and size limit for throwing knives? I also make knives and have always wanted toask this qquestion.. This would be the perfect thread to do so.

I don't think that there is a length or weight rule...certainly not within the circles I find myself.
I like my throwing knife to be almost the same length as my 'hawk, which is the length of my forearm from the end of my first knuckles to my elbow. And of about the same approximate weight. If your knife is too short, and/or too light, you will throw it low, having already stuck your 'hawk.
