Title: Hawken Rifle stamped Lee Paul, Yreka, Cal
Post by: hawknknife on March 09, 2015, 07:54:36 PM
There is a .50 Cal Hawken for sale, barrel marked Le Paul, Yreka, Cal K101.  Best I remember, he was a builder from late 60's to early 70's?  It has a Douglas XX barrel but it has been cut to 27 1/2 inches..Should be a good shooter.  Any opinions?...Thanks..Carl

IMHO it has been beat on pretty hard by an amateur.  I would not be interested at any price. With some attention to detail and instruction following ability most could make a better rifle.

If I wanted "Hawken"  I would build one from a Track kit.  If I wanted a really nice one I would get a Hawken Shop kit.  I have not researched it to see what the Hawken Shop parts offer over the track stuff.
