A collector friend of mine has a Southern chunk gun with standard weight bbl. But the bbl. is bedded in lead in the fullstock. Nothing special about the rifle, but on the counterplate side is carved ( nicely I might add ) NEW RECOVERY

If anyone has any idea of where this may have been, please post.
