can anyone point me to some resources for identifying lexington, ky rifle characteristics? i think the bryant's built there, but that is the extent of my knowledge atm.

Ask MKemper. (Marvin)

Seems someone wrote a book recently about Ky made rifles...can't remember who.

Shelby Gallien wrote the fine 2 volume Kentucky Makers books. I purchased copies last winter.
Lexington Rifles have a unique patch box design. I'm sure there are other things but I'll let Shelby respond.

To bad I didn't know Marvin was a good resource, I would have talked to him at the KyTn show :(

Yeah Mike, Tanselman is his name here.

This rifle from the ALR Museum is a Lexington school rifle. If you take away the Coyote/Wolf and the birds of prey other critter inlays there is a Lexington School patch box in there.
